About the League

Introducing the inaugural season of the Laramie County Indoor Wiffleball League, presented by Laramie County Events.

All games will be played indoors in the Dirt Barn of the Event Center at Archer (east end). Games will be 5 innings long (or 30 minutes), with teams each consisting of 5-7 players.

Rules & Equipment

THIS LEAGUE IS FOR FUN.  OVERCOMPETITVENESS, FIGHTING, ARGUING, DISRESPECT, AND/OR DIRTY PLAY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. TEAMS IN VIOLATION OF THIS BEHAVIOR ARE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION WITHOUT REFUND OF REGISTRATION FEES.
There are no prizes for winners, champions, or any other players.

  Basic Rules
  • Game will be 5 innings or 30 minutes (whichever comes first)
  • 5-run rule per inning, except for final inning
  • Pitching MUST be “pitch-to-hit” – No fastballs permitted
  • Games are self-officiated; no umpire will be used
  • Teams are co-ed
  • Each team will have a minimum of 5 players; max of 7
  • Must be at least 2 females in the field at all times
  • Five fielding positions: P, C, LF, CF, RF (up to two subs)
  • All 7 players allowed to bat; subs cannot be added to batting order once game starts
  • All participants must be at least 16 years old
  • All minors under the age of 18 require parental consent to participate
  • All team members must provide a completed Release, Waiver and Indemnity Agreement
  • Base runners will be used
  • See below for baserunning rules
  Field & Ground Rules

30′ to pitcher

40′ to first base

72′ to RF/LF corner

Batter will begin with 1 ball, 1 strike count

Any pitched ball that makes contact with the strike zone (including frame, but not the stand) will be a strike

Four balls for a walk; Three strikes for an out

Foul balls will follow same rules as baseball; no dropped thrid stirike rule.

 

An out will be made when:

  • Batter strikes out
  • Batted ball is caught in the air
  • Batter is out by force at any base
  • Runner is tagged with ball in hand of fielder

Runner struck by a thrown ball is NOT considered an out.

 

No first baseman needed for force at first base

Ball must cross first base foul line and hit backstop to count as an out at first

Runner may NOT advance on overthrow at first base

2′ wide by 3′ tall

Any pitched ball that hits the strike zone will be a strike
